Description

When the drug cartel’s assassination attempt on Sandy Davenport goes badly wrong and someone close dies instead, he embarks on a mission to find those responsible. To assist with his purpose, he reunites with a clandestine organisation that possesses extraordinary powers and who are tasked with smashing organised crime. But as they close in on the cartel’s leadership, Davenport’s daughter is kidnapped in retaliation and his attention becomes focused on finding and rescuing her. A fast moving, hard hitting, no nonsense thriller, with a twist in the tale.

Excerpt

‘Nothing to say, Silvino?’ queried the large man sitting on the bed. ‘What’s going to happen now?’ asked Bochelli rather feebly, the New York accent almost indiscernible. ‘Need you to tell us who contracted you to kill Sandy Davenport,’ Dick Richardson answered. ‘That’s not going to happen. I won’t give the names of my clients.’ ‘You will,’ said the large man, sitting comfortably on Silvino’s bed. ‘You think so?’ ‘I know so.’ Tom turned towards his colleague. ‘Any chance of a cup of tea before I start?’

Douglas John Knox is best known for his action packed mystery thrillers, including the DCI Max Cornell series. Mostly set in the North East of England, but his tales can take you off to the capital and overseas. Although blessed with a colourful imagination, Douglas didn’t start writing fiction until he retired from the Civil Service in 2005. It was then, with a compulsion to record his creations, instead of just dreaming them, that he was stimulated to write. Once a resident of County Durham, Douglas John Knox now lives in North Northumberland, the setting for many of his novels. When not writing, Douglas enjoys fly fishing and tying his own flies, gardening, which includes tending a large allotment and painting, both in watercolours and oils. Also known to have the occasional glass of red wine.
